The RES Grants Unit is responsible for providing pre-award and post-award support to all RES investigators. Pre-award services include access to a funding opportunity database, comprehensive support for proposal development and submission, as well as specialized services for large-scale proposals such as editorial support and collaborator coordination. Post-award services include coordination of report submissions; requests for grant amendments, fiscal oversight and management including monthly reporting and projections; and closeout processing.

SPO & VCRO policy on proposal deadlines

The VCRO and SPO implemented a policy in November 2008 stating that complete grant proposals must be received by SPO five business days prior to the sponsor deadline. As of June 1, 2009, the VCRO and SPO announced various enhancements to that policy and more detailed instructions for how to request exceptions.
